It's nearing the end of November, and for those of us who haven't already jumped the gun with Christmas preparations, the most wonderful time of year will be ushered in traditionally with the annual lighting of New York City's famous tree in Rockefeller Center.

The annual event (this year marks the 86th) will be celebrated Nov. 28 and aired by NBC at 8PM ET/PT. It will feature a star-studded roster of musical performers, with country music represented by Brett Eldredge, Martina McBride and Kellie Pickler (who will be performing with vocal group Pentatonix).

Other artists performing include Diana Ross, Tony Bennett, Diana Krall and John Legend.

The only thing more exciting than the musical numbers is the tree itself, which is a spectacular specimen. This year's tree is, according to a release, a 72-foot tall, 45-foot wide Norway Spruce from Wallkill, N.Y. The massive tree weighs approximately 12 tons and is about 75 years old; it will take more than 50,000 lights to cover it, and it'll be topped by a 900-lb star encrusted with three million crystals.

Eldredge recently released a deluxe version of his 2016 Christmas album, Glow, which features five new tracks, and he'll be playing a few Christmas season dates through the end of the year. McBride also has a new holiday album out, It's The Holiday Season, and will also be giving fans the gift of a few shows through Dec.
