Patty Lin, a former writer for the hit show "Friends," has revealed her negative experiences working on the show in her new memoir titled "End Credits: How I Broke Up with Hollywood." In an excerpt from the book, Lin discusses her initial reservations about joining the writing staff of "Friends" during Season 7 due to her limited experience in the industry and her background in drama instead of comedy.
However, she couldn't pass up the opportunity because the show was a massive success at the time. One of the main reasons Lin found the job dissatisfying was her perception that the actors had lost interest in the show.
"Friends," which aired from 1994 to 2004 on NBC and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry, became a juggernaut of a series.
Lin writes that her disillusionment began with her first writing job but was temporarily alleviated when she had a positive experience working on "Freaks and Geeks." However, her enthusiasm quickly faded when it came to "Friends.
