Patty Lin, a former writer for the hit show "Friends," has revealed her negative experiences working on the show in her new memoir titled "End Credits: How I Broke Up with Hollywood." In an excerpt from the book, Lin discusses her initial reservations about joining the writing staff of "Friends" during Season 7 due to her limited experience in the industry and her background in drama instead of comedy.
"Friends," which aired from 1994 to 2004 on NBC and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and Matthew Perry, became a juggernaut of a series.
At first, Lin was excited about attending table reads with the cast because they were Big Stars, and the breakfast buffet served was delicious. But soon, the novelty wore off, and she began losing interest.
Lin also discussed the script revision process, in which the cast and crew would hold a run-through on set and offer their opinions on the scripts.
