is one of the longest-running shows in television history. The crime series was nominated for multiple Emmy Awards while it ran and won several awards given out by various other groups. In addition to its myriad awards, launched the careers of some of Hollywood’s favorite actors, like Matthew Gray Gubler and Kirsten Vangsness.
Among those actors is A.J. Cook. The Canadian actress was on the show for over 300 episodes, helping track down serial killers and solve crimes.
A.J. Cook has been a performer all her life. Her first experience on the stage was as a dancer, where she was trained in jazz, tap, and ballet. She competed in dance, too, but ultimately decided to become an actress. Although, had acting not panned out, she would have remained a dancer. The actress has faced some adversity in life, too. Due to a severe astigmatism, Cook was deemed legally blind and wore corrective contact lenses.
Cook had a couple other roles in television before landing her role in but they weren’t nearly as high profile as her role as Jennifer Jareau proved to be. Cook starred in the popular series for 302 episodes, leaving after season five due to budget cuts, and returning a few seasons later to remain a cast member until its series finale.
