Criminal Minds is returning for a revival series at Paramount+, with some well-known faces from the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) reprising their roles in a brand new ten-episode run.The reboot, titled Criminal Minds: Evolution, kicks off a few years after the popular CBS's procedural bid a not-so-final farewell to fans. Premiered in 2005, Criminal Minds bowed out in 2020, in which the protagonists tried to decipher the innermost thoughts of serial killers.
Paget Brewster is returning in the fan favorite role of BAU Unit Chief Emily Prentiss. The actress and singer will rock her natural, gray hair in Criminal Minds: Evolution, as she announced to fans in a picture shared on Twitter.
"I hope you're all excited for a slightly older, sassier, no filters, grey-haired Prentiss. And if you aren't, that's cool, just tell someone else," Brewster wrote in August this year.
Criminal Minds star Joe Mantegna returns as BAU senior supervisory special agent David Rossi in Criminal Minds: Evolution.
First appeared in the role in the third season of Criminal Minds, Mantegna has regularly updated fans on Evolution on Instagram, gifting his followers some location sneak peeks and other behind-the-scenes moments.
As it happened with Criminal Minds before, the actor has once again stepped behind the camera to direct an episode of Evolution.
is set to reprise the role of FBI supervisory special agent Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau in the new series.
She has appeared in all seasons of Criminal Minds so far, albeit scaling down her role in season six. In the new show, Cook will be directing an episode, though it hasn't been disclosed which one yet.
