When the Olsen twins didn't come back for the spinoff , John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis) revealed he was upset with their decision. The twins first appeared in when they were six months old, igniting a lifelong affiliation with the show. While they featured in until the show ended in 1995, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen chose not to appear in the 2016 spinoff and continuation, which ignited fervent speculation about on-set issues.
