Carlos Irwin Estévez, better known as Charlie Sheen, is an American film and television actor. Through the 1980s and 1990s, Sheen continued to star in box office smashes such as Wall Street with his father, Martin Sheen, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1994. Major League Baseball, the Hot Shots! flicks, and the Scary Movie franchise were all part of his career. However, his big break came in 2003, when he was cast as Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men.
He co-starred in the CBS sitcom with Jon Cryer for eight seasons before being fired in 2011 for criticizing the show's creator, Chuck Lorre. At the time, the actor was battling drug and alcohol addiction and gave a slew of controversial interviews.
In addition to acting, the Scary Movie actor has been known for controversies and his chaotic personal life over the course of his career. To mention a few: his well-documented substance abuse troubles; his ex-wife Denise Richards' restraining order against him; many lawsuits from adult stars; the public revelation of his HIV diagnosis in 2015, followed by even more litigation; and his firing from the famous sitcom.
