Taylor Sheridan is currently enjoying a great partnership with Paramount+. The writer/director has given the streaming platform a major hit with , which has now sprouted a couple of spin-off prequels in the form of tried-and-true westerns with the television series and . After already broke records being the most-watched premiere ever with over 7 million viewers, the company would now announce that the Harrison Ford/Helen Mirren vehicle will be returning for a second season.
In a press release, the studio also prepares the audience for the continuation of the first season, “Returning this Sunday, Feb. 5th, with a new episode, the first season of 1923 introduces a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob (Ford) and matriarch Cara (Mirren). The series explores the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, and the end of Prohibition all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.
Season one of , the next installment of the Dutton family origin story, also stars as the nephew of Jacob, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Jerome Flynn, and Julia Schlaepfer. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
In addition to the saga, Sheridan continues to churn out hit-after-hit with acclaim-after-acclaim as he provides a large slate of original scripted programming, which includes the Sylvester Stallone mob show, , Jeremy Renner’s , the upcoming Dennis Quaid show
, the upcoming Nicole Kidman show, , as well as the upcoming . Paramount+ will also be releasing a documentary on how Sheridan seems to never sleep. Ok, one isn’t real. However, it’s mighty impressive to see the output of content coming from Sheridan in such a compressed amount of time.
