Despite efforts from fans to save the show, Ackles took to Twitter to share the news and express his gratitude to the viewers and cast members who made the series possible.

Ackles, who also served as an executive producer on the show, acknowledged the unfortunate timing of the cancellation, stating that a shift in the network coupled with the industry strike played a significant role in the decision. The show, which narrated the story of Dean Winchester, was set in the 1970s and focused on his parents, John Winchester and Mary Campbell.

During a recent Supernatural convention in Chicago, Drake Rodger, who portrayed John Winchester, confirmed that there would be no second season of The Winchesters.
