At just 13 years old, Ryan Buggle has already spent over half his life on the set of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, playing Noah, the son of Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Some of Buggle's favorite memories involve Hargitay, like the time she playfully put whipped cream on his face during an early scene. Working with her has been a dream, and he considers his co-stars his extended family.
Despite being on the show for six years, Buggle remains dedicated to improving his acting skills. Hargitay taught him to act with his heart and approach his craft authentically. Buggle greatly admires her kindness and talents as an actor and director. Their close bond is evident, with occasional slip-ups where Hargitay calls Buggle by his real name during scenes.
One of the most challenging scenes for Buggle was when Noah witnessed his mother being attacked by gang members.
It was both intense and fun for him, as he had to watch Hargitay's character getting beaten up right in front of him. To prepare for the emotional weight of the scene, he discussed it extensively with Hargitay and drew from Noah's perspective to deliver a compelling performance. Buggle discovered a love for stunt work during the BX9 gang scene. Inspired by his skills as a gymnast and his passion for acting and dancing, he dedicated extra time to observe the stunts being executed.
