Gibbs from 'NCIS' Undergoes Complete Transformation with Refreshed Appearance and Reinvigorated Attitude
The season 13 premiere of NCIS is set to pick up right after the intense finale of the previous season. Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon, is shot by a brainwashed preteen terrorist that he was trying to protect. This incident will have both emotional and physical effects on Gibbs, as he can no longer trust women and children like he did before. He is rushed into surgery at a Navy hospital on an aircraft carrier in Iraq, where he is operated by Dr.
Taft, played by Jon Cryer. Despite being known for his comedic roles, Cryer brings cynicism, sarcasm, and humor to his character. The relationship between Dr. Taft and Gibbs will evolve throughout several episodes as Gibbs undergoes physical therapy. After a four-month time jump, Gibbs returns to work, but his injuries prevent him from going out in the field. Agent DiNozzo, played by Michael Weatherly, temporarily takes on the role of team leader.
In this season, DiNozzo and Agent Teague, played by Mimi Rogers, will travel to Shanghai to take down the terrorist group that recruited Gibbs's shooter. DiNozzo begins to question his role as he gets older and sees the toll that Gibbs's solitary life has taken on him. The premiere episode of NCIS season 13 will air on Tuesday, September 22nd.
