NCIS agent Ellie Bishop, played by Emily Wickersham, has had a difficult time this fall. First, she believed her husband died in a hotel bombing in Dubai, only to later discover he had been unfaithful. This revelation led Bishop to return home to Oklahoma to reflect on the situation. However, her boss, Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon), shows up and asks for her help with a case, prompting Bishop to join him.
In the upcoming episode, Gibbs and Bishop travel to Kansas together to convince a prisoner to donate tissue for a case the team is working on. While the main reason for Gibbs' visit is the case, he also cares for Bishop and wants to make sure she is okay. During their time in Oklahoma, Bishop's family is introduced, with her mother played by Lindsay Wagner, known for her role in "The Bionic Woman.

Wickersham describes the experience of filming outside of the squad room, cooking, and sitting down for a family dinner with her on-screen family and Gibbs. She mentions that between takes, Wagner and Harmon shared stories about "The Bionic Woman," making her feel like she has a superhero as a mom.
