Candace Cameron-Bure explains why there were a lot of exes during Fuller House's triple wedding finale. After the first nine episodes of the farewell season ended with Steve's (Scott Weinger) surprise proposal to DJ, it was clear that the sitcom would end with all three main female leads tying the knot. Lo and behold, much of the back half of the year was devoted to planning the occasion with the final episode reserved for the event itself.
An unexpected string of unfortunate events forced DJ, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) to host their wedding in the Tanner family's backyard. It's perfect for the occasion considering that it's a relatively small gathering with mostly family and friends.
Speaking with Insider about all things Fuller House finale, the Cameron-Bure, who also served as a producer in the Netflix offshoot says that having exes in the wedding proves that former lovers can get along.
"I think that is a message within our show, that we can still all be friends. Things might not have worked out the way that we intended them to originally, but everyone gets along and everyone supports each other. That in itself is such a positive message when it's not the normal message."
