The Supernatural prequel spinoff series, The Winchesters, has failed to secure a new home after being cancelled by The CW last month. The show's executive producer and Supernatural star Jensen Ackles had previously expressed hope that there was a five-season plan for The Winchesters that they would get to execute.

With the cancellation of The Winchesters, it marks the end of the Supernatural franchise, at least for now. The series follows John and Mary Winchester as they met, fell in love, and fought monsters together while searching for their missing fathers during the 1970s.
