John Stamos delves into his grief over the 2022 passing of his Full House costar Bob Saget in his upcoming memoir If You Would've Told Me.But before the arrival of the book, the 60-year-old shared some insight into how his friend's death affected his outlook on life.

In a New York Timesprofile published on Oct. 17, Stamos shared that Saget "never left anything on the table" when it came to expressing his love for his longtime friend.

"When he died, I knew he loved me. I knew he cared about me. He told me every day," Stamos said. He noted that Saget's way of expressing his love taught him a valuable lesson: "Tomorrow's never promised, so make the best of where you're at, who you're with." The ER alum added, "And by the way, these are all easy things to say. They're hard to do."

Saget passed away on Jan. 9, 2022 after suffering head trauma.

Elsewhere in the interview, Stamos admitted that the toughest memories to write about were his recollections of the Full House days. He confessed that though the show turned him into one of TV's biggest stars and he formed strong friendships with the cast, he wanted to leave the role behind when the sitcom reached its eighth and final season in 1995.

"It was a blessing and a curse," he noted, adding, "It's always killed me that that's what everybody knew me from, that mullet-headed ding-dong."
