Misha Collins, known for his role as Castiel in the beloved show Supernatural, expressed his continued hope to return to the iconic horror series despite its conclusion. When asked about his thoughts on the cancellation of The Winchesters, a prequel to Supernatural, Collins expressed his sorrow, stating that it marked the true ending of the franchise.
He described his feelings as "sad" and mentioned that while he must move on to other projects, Supernatural will always hold a special place in his heart because it drastically changed his life.
Despite this, Collins still holds on to hope that the characters of Sam, Dean, and Castiel could reunite in a different format, such as a movie or limited-run series. Collins is not alone in his desire for a Supernatural revival. Jensen Ackles, known for his role as Dean Winchester, also expressed interest in returning to the franchise.
He acknowledged that after 15 years, it was necessary to take a break and see what the future holds, but he and Collins would be open to discussing a potential revival.
In addition to his role in Supernatural, Collins recently returned to The CW to play Harvey Dent in the series Gotham Knights. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after just one season, leading Collins to express his disappointment in the network's decision.
However, he also highlighted the pleasure he experienced from working on a series that prioritized inclusive characters and narratives. Collins expressed pride in the opportunities the show provided to tell diverse stories. Fans of Supernatural can still enjoy the series by streaming it on Netflix.
