The finale synopsis teases Dave Rossi's dark fate. After weeks of trying to hunt down Sicarius and his associates, the BAU is finally on the cusp of taking down the Seattle-based tech specialist/serial killer. Unfortunately, before they can finally defeat him for good, Voit has one last big move as he comes after Rossi.
Ahead of, (via ) releases an official synopsis for the episode. Titled "Dead End," the outing sounds like it will heavily focus on the BAU's most veteran member as he becomes hostage to Voit as seen in the penultimate episode.
"With Rossi in Voit’s clutches, he grapples with the limits of his technical know-how and mental strength. As the BAU tightens their grip on Voit, he reveals just how far he’s willing to take his deadly crusade."
Unlike the original show on CBS, Paramount+ allows the BAU to dig into a case, which means that there will be considerable attention devoted to understanding the UnSub's psyche — in this instance, Voit. What's surprising is the focus that has also given on the profilers. Each one of them has its respective mini-arcs, which makes the show more interesting.
Coming into the finale, it is very likely that its storytelling will maintain this approach.
While the hunt for Voit and his network is coming to an end, is already renewed for season 2. Not only does it guarantee the return of the BAU, but it also opens the possibility of seeing missing profilers such as Spencer Reid and Matt Simmons.
Perhaps, their respective returns even get teased in the upcoming finale.
