Charlie Sheen's career has been full of ups and downs. Over the years, the actor has been implicated in allegations of domestic violence and drug abuse, for which he has also found himself on the wrong side of the law multiple times. He has also gained a reputation as being somewhat unprofessional in his work, often falling foul with his colleagues and bosses in various projects.
At the height of his success, the Two and a Half Men star was worth $150 million, a figure which now stands at a comparatively meager $10 million.
Two and a Half Men was pretty much the pinnacle of the actor's career, as he played the character Charlie Harper in a total of 177 episodes of the popular CBS sitcom.
Even there, trouble found its way into his life, and he eventually left the show in rather acrimonious circumstances.
Following that controversial exit, Sheen is said to have sent an angry video message to Jon Cryer, one of his main co-stars in the show.
As the title of the show suggests, Charlie Sheen's Charlie Harper was one of three main characters in Two and a Half Men.
According to one synopsis on IMDb, the sitcom tells the story of 'jingle-writer Charlie, [who] is forced to change his lifestyle and learn to control his drinking, smoking, gambling and womanizing when after a 12 years marriage, his fresh dumped-by-wife brother and his son need a place to stay.
Charlie's brother is known as Alan Harper, a part that was played by Jon Cryer. Then-child actor Angus T. Jones completed this main cast line-up, as Alan's slacker son. The trio worked together for the first eight seasons of the show, before trouble started brewing.
Sheen had been battling substance addiction over the years. On one occasion in January 2011, production of the show had to be halted as he underwent a rehab program.
