With a character dying (and coming back to life) every other episode for all 15 seasons, it's hard to think of a show that has manipulated its viewers' emotions more.

But whether you liked it or not, you have to admit that ' acting in the scene where he confesses his love to Dean, and the fact that he was willing to sacrifice himself just so Dean could survive, is worth its place on this list.

The last scene before Dean's death in the 20th episode of season 15 was one of the most heartbreaking things any Supernatural fan has ever seen, but also a very fitting "goodbye" to the show.
