Work on season 2 along with a raft of other shows is set to resume as the first wave of television writers rooms reform following the end of the WGA writers strike. Making its debut in late 2022, served as a continuation of the hit 2005 crime drama, which follows members of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. Season 2 was officially greenlit by Paramount+ in January 2023, however, work on the new season ground to a halt when the WGA launched strike action in May.

When season 2 was officially greenlit, the intended release date was never explicitly announced. However, most viewers assumed it would follow the pattern set by season 1 and arrive sometime in November 2023, though all hopes for achieving such an arbitrary deadline quickly vanished in the face of the strike action that swept through Hollywood in May this year.

Yet, while the end of the WGA writers' strike bodes well for a timely return for the hit show, producers still will still need to contend with the and their members before filming can begin.
