Ryan Grantham, a Canadian actor known for his roles in popular shows such as "Riverdale," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," and "Supernatural," has received a life sentence in prison, with a minimum parole ineligibility period of 14 years, for the second-degree murder of his mother, according to a report by CBC. The tragic incident took place in March 2020 in Squamish, British Columbia.
Grantham fatally shot his mother, Barbara Waite, in the back of her head while she was playing the piano in their home.
Shockingly, after the murder, Grantham filmed a GoPro video in which he admitted to killing his mother and even showed her lifeless body. The next day, he placed a sheet over her body, arranged lit candles around it, and hung a rosary from the piano. He then drove to Ottawa with a car filled with guns, ammunition, and Molotov cocktails, with the intention of murdering Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
However, he later changed his mind and decided to turn himself in at the Vancouver Police Department building in East Vancouver. During the trial, Grantham's sister delivered a victim impact statement, which added to the heartbreaking nature of the case.
