Perhaps canceled before its time, Happy Endings' arrival on Hulu is helping to secure the series' impressive legacy. The show's premise sees Dave (Zachary Knighton) getting left at the altar by Alex (Elisha Cuthbert), leading the pair to try and keep their friend group together despite the awkwardness.

The focus on 30-something friends living in a big city and dealing with relationships certainly isn't unique, but the ensemble is terrific, and the cringe-worthy catalyst makes for a hilarious sitcom that deserves more acclaim.

Broad City (2014-2019)

Responsible for introducing the mainstream to the wonderful comedic duo of Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, Broad City turns traditional sitcom fare into chaos.

The show follows two best friends as they live their awkward and hilarious lives as two young women in the big city. The show leans into the big personalities of the characters and the bizarre humor of Glazer and Jacobson, but is fundamentally a surprisingly charming show about friendship that still makes viewers laugh out loud.

Party Down (2009-)

Despite its impressive ensemble (including the likes of Parks & Rec's Adam Scott), Party Down went somewhat under the radar when it first appeared on screens. Thankfully, the show has enjoyed a deserved reappraisal. The ensemble comedy sees Scott, Megan Mullally, and Martin Starr play the reluctant workers of a catering service. It is a unique take on the workplace comedy with the setting and supporting cast changing with each new episode and an R-rated sense of humor that never fails to deliver big laughs.
