Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles not only shared a strong bond with each other while portraying the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, on the hit TV show Supernatural, but they also cultivated an unbreakable connection with their fans. These actors served as the anchors of the CW drama for 15 seasons, from September 2005 to November 2020.
They were the only cast members to appear in all 327 episodes, which followed the siblings as they hunted demons, monsters, and other supernatural creatures.
Ackles, Padalecki, and Misha Collins, who played Castiel, announced in March 2019 that Supernatural would be coming to an end. Padalecki expressed in an interview with Us Weekly in May 2019 that he couldn't fully say goodbye to his character. He also emphasized the strong sense of family that had developed among the cast and crew over the span of 15 years.
He mentioned that those who remained on the show genuinely wanted to be there and had become a tight-knit family.
Ackles, on the other hand, was excited about the possibility of expanding the Supernatural universe. During a press tour panel in August 2019, he mentioned that he believed the show would continue in some form, even if it took a break for a while. His words hinted at the potential for future spin-offs or related projects. Since the end of Supernatural, the actors have kept themselves busy with various projects.
Padalecki wasted no time and immediately started working on his next show, Walker, which premiered in 2021. He is also the co-owner of a bar called Stereotype in Austin, Texas. Padalecki has been married to Genevieve Cortese since February 2010, and they have three children together. Ackles appeared as Soldier Boy in the third season of the Amazon Prime Video series The Boys in 2022.
He also joined the ABC show Big Sky as a sheriff later that year.
